MemberAdvantage
The unexpected happens more than
we'd like...and usually at the wrong time. You sit down to
balance your checking account only to realize you forgot to
write in a debit transaction and it leaves you a "little short"
to cover your outstanding checks.
This is why Freedom has added a for members that
protects you from some of the expense, the embarrassment and hassle of returned
checks.
- Protects you from NSF returned
checks
- Protects you from merchant
returned check charges
- Protects you from collection
agency fees
- Protects your credit standing
What is MemberAdvantage?
MemberAdvantage is a service that adds a measure of protection to your personal
checking account. MemberAdvantage may cover
items such as check, debit, ACH or ATM transactions up to a
pre-approved limit, when your checking account funds
are insufficient. What does this mean? This means instead of
returning an item because of insufficient funds,
Freedom may pay it, saving you additional charges from
merchant collection companies. It also saves you the
embarrassment an inadvertent returned item can cause and helps
protect your credit standing.
How Does MemberAdvantage Work?
Overdrafts on your checking
account, up to your account limit [including the overdrawn item(s)
and the MemberAdvantage fee(s)] may be honored by
Freedom. A fee equal to our NSF fee will be assessed for each
item. You then have up to 30
days to bring the account current, either through a direct
deposit, transfer of funds, or a deposit at one of our branch
offices.
What if I already have Overdraft Line of Credit?
If you have established other
overdraft protection methods, such as a line of credit or
automatic transfer from other deposit account, we will always look to those other
methods first before paying your overdraft with MemberAdvantage.
Do I have to apply for this service?
No. We require no additional
application or signature for this service.
